Anxiously Thomas did sit and wait
From midnight to midnight by the iron gate
Praying and hoping that this was the year
His beloved wife Beth would finally appear
According to legend, for those who believe
The dead may come calling on All Hallows Eve
For this is the night that the broken hearted
May once again visit their dearly departed
However all spirits to a rule they are bound
Never to wander outside hallowed ground
For those who do stray too far from their grave
The devil will take them and make them a slave
His minions are prowling on All Hallows Eve
Watching and waiting for those who do leave
With time running out, Thomas called out her name
Please come to me Beth, but his wife never came
He walked to the grave and he placed by the stone
The flower he held then he sadly went home
On November first, the day of his death
As always came Mother and his dear wife Beth
Then seeing the flower she felt such dismay
With tears in her eyes Beth just had to say
Was there another, please tell me do Mom
Who leaves flowers on the grave of my Tom?
