SURGICAL MASKS Now a symbol of evil. Does anyone remember when a surgical mask was symbolically associated with scholarship, humanity, charity, decency, prosperity and, most importantly, “do no harm”?
It now symbolizes the exact opposite.
Am I right?

I only wore the N95 masks when working with elderly.
Left that field of work.
Wearing a basic mask doesn't bother me anymore if it is required someplace,- i dont mind putting it on. It's crazy when you think about it, how it has just become part of the social norm.
When you say "surgical masks,- yes, you are correct, it has all changed now.
Covid is apparently in the red zone in my county.
All this time I have never tested positive for covid even though I have been directly exposed more than once by more than 1 individual, & once someone in my household became ill & tested positive for it. Then, I began to feel sick for a few days, nothing major, sore throat, slight fever. This was in February. So I got tested figuring i had it.. And it was negative. Why would I test negative when someone in my household was ill & tested positive? That tells me some of those tests aren't accurate & give false results.
I chose to get vaccinated but not boostered. Had I been 60 years or older I'd of got boostered,- "maybe."
My friend's dad died of covid who was otherwise healthy & had an excruciating death. He was 66. He played in a band, had no underlying health conditions but covid took him out hard.
Hope you are all are healthy here!
I've had my ups & downs with health in the last year, but the covid illness wasn't one if them. The pandemic itself causing me to become a tad agoraphobic for a time, just made me nervous & feel weird to go out, & decided to leave the field of care work I was in entirely & go back to my previous line of work, I have not been ill from covid, but was for a time rather affected by the pandemic, which caused my life to change. Yet now it seems has changed for the better. It took a really long time for things to get back to normal though.
I still see people walking around in N95 masks.
Not really worried about covid anymore. At this point, I figure we have all been exposed somewhere along the way whether knowingly or unknowingly and likely even built up immunities.
Take Care & be careful out there! ♡

Nearly all of the people who actually died from COVID had three comorbidities, almost always advanced age and obesity along with some other. My guess is your friend was given Remdesivir and was later placed on a ventilator in accordance with CDC guidelines. Out of respect, and not being familiar with any details I'll stop there other than to say there is evil beyond comprehension in the land right now. I'm sorry about your friend and for your loss.

We wore the masks because we were forced to, a lot of stores wouldn't let you in without them. But, I always said to my wife, these offer no protection at all, it's a prop to make people feel like something was being done. We still haven't taken the vaccine, and we won't, but that's a whole other story and rant, lol.
Masks were a joke, and in fact, if you read the fine print on a lot of them, it says right on them they will not prevent airborne illnesses.
The whole thing was a joke and the democrats got rich off of it. A hyped up flu. I love the posts I read, has anyone noticed there have been no cases of the flu this year because of the masks? BS. This thing WAS the flu.
