I went to Amsterdam and I brought back a pair of wooden shoes... Have you actually been to Amsterdam? I found it to be a stinky city with an amazing art museum. I was saddened to see how Anne Frank's story has been corrupted to advance a political agenda much in the same way as Martin Luther King's. Yes. We got our wooden shoes but without a design.

BERMUDA We actually brought home some of the pink sand. ...And a small piece of pipe coral in my knee (may still be there). Ouch! Who knew at the time that it was illegal to bring soil back to the U.S.? Is sand soil? Must not be. The pink color is created by tiny bits of red coral. Red coral was highly-prized in early Japan.

Cairns Australia. While there visited the bat farm. I don't like bats but they were fascinating.

I've never been to Amsterdam, but I have been to Bermuda a couple of times. I also brought back some of their pretty powdery pink sand - who could resist. It's a wonder they still have sand left on their beaches after all the decades of tourists like us gathering free souvenirs. LOL
That little flying fox is actually cute - never thought I'd say that about a bat, but it's true. Of course I am partial to foxes and have been known to morph into a flying fox on occasion.

I just came back from Dollywood - Dolly Parton's theme park in Tennessee. I bought one of her bras, but I had a little mishap on the way home - it fell off the flatbed and caused a jam that tied up the traffic for hours!E

Enjoyed the postcards TP. Korea South. Surprised how modern it was. That road over water you can see is about 14 klms long. It doesn't look it in photo. L

Enjoyed the postcards TP. Korea South. Ah...Pusan/Busan. I've never been there. Are the beaches fortressed there as they still are on Cheju Island? The bridges in the capital are said to be all mined. Visited the DMZ/JSA while there. Talk about reality.
