You just made your favorite sandwich or it's that last piece of cake you've been dreaming of all evening but ohhhhh noooooo, it fell on the floor! Remember when you were a kid and you took that first lick off your ice cream cone and the ice cream slid off onto the floor --- waaaaaaaa waaaaaaaa!!! Many times you've been faced with the decision to eat it anyway or toss it in the trash. Choose the answer(s) that best describe where you stand on this important issue.
Feel free to share floor cuisine stories with your Library pals - come on, it's just us, we won't judge you and we won't tell anyone! 8-)

I answered yes to the poll.
I think it depend on how much of the surface area of the food actually hit the floor. Like I wouldn't eat a piece of Chocolate cake off the floor but I would consider eating a peanut M&M ... .( can't let it go uneaten....no way) or a pretzel ect.
I have a friend that when her two year old picked up a fishie off the floor and put it in her mouth she Ran across the room screaming and dug it out of her daughters mouth....like it was H1N1 she was eating or something. I guess I don't think a little dirt will hurt ya know ?

While I'm not advocating people eat off the floor, I have heard that young children who are kept in the most sterile environment possible tend to have weak immune systems and get sick very easily when they are eventually exposed to the real world once they enter school. I think it's a similar principal to when I was getting regular allergy shots which were actually small doses of the very things I was allergic to in the environment. The purpose was to build up my natural immune system to fight the things that made me feel so ill.
Would I recommend eating something from the garbage pail....not so much! LOL
